The goal of the club is to put MIT Academy of Engineering in the global map of the programming community with the help of HackerRank.

With the help of passionate problem solvers in MITAOE, HackerRank Club will play a huge role in putting students of our college in the global map of the programming community, help them discover amazing learning opportunities and also find great internships/jobs in the process.

Encouraging students of MITAOE to participate in national as well as International competitions like ACM ICPC, SnackDown, Code Gladiators, Smart India Hackathon, KPIT Sparkle, Google Competitions like Codejam, Hashcode, Kickstart etc.

Aim:

About Activity:

HackerRank club organized series of lectures on “Placement Oriented Preparation”. Mr. Amar More from School of Computer Engineering and Technology, invited as Resource person. This series will help students in preparing for Placement as well as in various coding competitions. CS and on CS-IT students are attending the series.

About Activity:

SnackDown is a global programming event that invites teams from all over the world to take part in India’s most prestigious multi round programming competition. Hosted by CodeChef, SnackDown is open to anyone with a knack for programming and began in the year 2009.

The aim of SnackDown is to pit the finest programming brains from different parts of the globe against each other, under one roof in India. Everyone from middle and high school students as well as working professionals form teams that attempt to take home the coveted crown of SnackDown champion.

The first edition of SnackDown in 2010 witnessed the participation of 639 teams of with 3 members each. Since then the contest has grown by leaps and bounds. Today, SnackDown is considered to be one of the most coveted onsite competitive programming titles across the globe with its previous edition witnessing a participation from 29K+ programmers across the world!

This year, we are back with the fifth edition of SnackDown, the registrations for which begin in mid-September. The qualifying rounds will kickstart from October. Till now the final round of SnackDown has been an onsite event hosted in India in the month of June-July. This is also the time of heavy monsoons in major parts of the country. To not let the extreme weather come in our way of hosting a glorious finale on the Indian soil we decided to keep it in the month of February of 2019!

Achievement –

40+ teams from MITAOE were participated in Round – I of SnackDown 2019 competition.

11+ teams were qualified for Round – II of SnackDown 2019.

5+ teams were qualified for Round - III of SnackDown 2019.

About Activity:

KPIT Sparkle 2019 is project competition organized by KPIT Private Limited, Pune. KPIT Sparkle is competition is based on various topics related to automation, energy saving. Theme of KPIT Sparkle 2019 is “Energy & Mobility for the Future.

The 2019 edition of KPIT Sparkle comes up with an exciting theme which would allow the students to explore new technology trends in the field of energy and mobility. It emphasizes on Energy generation, Energy Storage, Energy Utilization and Clean, Safe, Shared, Connected, Secured Mobility.

Name of Activity:- ACM ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Competition)

About Activity:

The ICPC traces its roots to 1970 when the first competition was hosted by pioneers of the Alpha Chapter of the UPE Computer Science Honor Society. The initiative spread quickly within the United States and Canada as an innovative program to raise increase ambition, problem-solving aptitude, and opportunities of the strongest students in the field of computing.

Over time, the contest evolved into a multi-tier competition with the first championship round conducted in 1977. Since then, the contest has expanded into a worldwide collaborative of universities hosting regional competitions that advance teams to the annual global championship round, the ICPC World Finals.

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the premier global programming competition conducted by and for the world’s universities. The ICPC is affiliated with the ICPC Foundation and is headquartered at Baylor University

Achievement –

8 teams from MITAOE were participated in ACM ICPC competition. All teams are eligible for Honor code Mention certificates.

Name of Activity:- Foundation Program 5.0 Certification course offered by Infosys, Pune

Date & Venue:- 1 Sept – 31 Dec 2018, MITAOE, Alandi

About Activity:

Infosys offering certification course on “Foundation Program 5.0” for CSIT as well as Non CSIT students. Program contains modules like Python, Database, Python integration with database, advanced databases and Object Oriented Programming concepts.

Course is free of cost. Total 260 students from CS and Non CSIT have registered for the certification course. Course duration is of 4-5 months.

Google I/O Extended Conference

I/O Extended Alandi event organized for developers who are interested in Google's development technologies ranging from Android, App Engine, and Google Chrome platforms, to product APIs like the Maps API, YouTube API and Google Calendar API and more.

Event started with keynote of Google I/O Extended event held in California. Following this we had Women Techmakers speaker, Nikita Gandhi, the lead of Women Techmakers to let us know about Women in Tech

Mahaveer Muttha for speaking about Google Developer Group Pune wherein he elaborated about the community of tech for trending technologies.

Meenakshi Dhanani to talk about Google Scholarships. Last session was of TensorFlow conducted by Mr. Mohit Choudary, wherein live demo using TensorFlow..
