The undergraduate program in Electronics Engineering was started in the year 1999-2000, and the postgraduate program in 2009-10. We inducted our Ph.D. (Electronics) research center in the year 2011. The department is accredited by NBA for its excellence in academics, research and administration. The UGC has conferred ‘academic autonomy’ upon our institute with effect from the academic year 2016-17. This will allow us to foster our practices further in order to offer holistic and high quality education to our students.

The department is dedicated to the overall development of its students through joyful learning and activity-based learning, industry-based projects, club activities, extracurricular and co curricular activities. The environment is created for self-learning with an active involvement of the students in various competitions of national and international repute like NIYANTRA, e-Yantra, IRO (Indian robotics Olympiad), world skills international competitions in the skills of electronics and mobile robotics etc.
The department offers a four-year course culminating in the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Electronics Engineering and two year Master of Technology (M.Tech.) with the specialization in VLSI and Embedded Systems.
The course equips the students with the knowledge of a blended choice-based curriculum of Natural Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Program core (Multidisciplinary), Discipline core, Departmental Electives, Open Electives, Humanities and Social Science, skill development and project which include Computer programming, Design thinking, System Engineering, Prototyping, Material Engineering, Psychology, Embedded System Design, Process Control, Industrial automation, Sociology, Power Electronics, VLSI, Embedded System, Real Time operating system, Analog and Digital communication, Entrepreneurship and management and others to name a few.
The department has advanced equipments in its laboratories along with the computers having the latest configuration, connected through LAN and 100 mbps internet in tune with the requirements of the industry and society. On completion of the program, the students shall be industry-ready with all the required technical and soft skills, and shall also be competent for taking up higher studies.
