The MIT Academy of Engineering was established in 1999 by Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEERS, MIT-PUNE). MITAOE Central Library started its operation from the same year with four major branches i.e. Computer, Electronics, Chemical and E&TC. Later on we upgraded our library collection with the introduction of other branches i.e. Mechanical, Civil, IT and PG Courses. Presently, we have a good collection of books including all above branches as well as Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics Humanities etc. Its rich collection is growing relentlessly in all subjects.
The Library develops and maintains both physical and electronic collections, supporting the diverse needs and preferences of users both on and off campus. Central Library has an excellent collection of text books, reference books, general books, journals, magazines, encyclopedia, handbooks, data sheets, bound volumes, CD-ROMs, Floppies, Video Lecture, digital library, online resources and other reading material. All books are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. It has an excellent infrastructure to meet student’s requirement. Central Library uses Slim ++ software for managing all its operations. Readers can access the Library database using WEB OPAC. Central Library follows open access system that allows users a direct access to the library collection. The Library partners with other institutions to share resources and participate in cooperative initiatives. Central Library is also the first ISO certified engineering library, it is also the first engineering library in Pune that implemented barcode technology for circulation. The central library offers a diverse range of services. Apart from the library services, library also carry out some activities to increase the user’s interest towards library utilization.

The mission of Central Library is to make its resources available through collection and dissemination of information to meet the current curricular and general requirements of MITAOE authorized users and to sustain, respect and preserve universal knowledge of the past, for the future generations.
