BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

The Robin Hood Army originated in Delhi India, then eventually spread its meaningful contribution to society all over India. Robin Hood Army functions on and propagates the basic ideology of self-sustained communities across the city i.e. each locality/community within the city will contribute towards providing food to the needy through its local volunteers and restaurants. The organization does not accept monetary donations and only distributes the food or donations in kind that it receives from its donors. RHA is zero funded organization, Non- religious and non-political organization

The medical field and doctors rely on blood donations to carry out a wide range of variety of life-saving and life enhancement treatments every day. So On the 10th of May, in the city of Alandi, Pune a blood donation drive was organized by the RHA in association with Sassoon general hospital, Pune which was done on the campus of MIT Academy of Engineering, Alandi

The preparation of the drive had started almost a month ago wherein the RHA gathered and inspired students to volunteer for this drive, and with the help of each and every one, this drive was a huge success. The drive was started around 9.30 am till 5.30 pm with all the volunteers ready on their toes and were willing to make this a success. More than that, the blood donation drive was a huge success with an overwhelming response from the MIT students and the people of Alandi. Several residential people, students, and Faculty members willingly came up to donate blood. People from all walks of life came together for this noble cause.

All blood donors are asked questions about their medical history to help determine whether they can safely donate blood without experiencing any negative lath effects. During the donation, one unit of blood approximately 350-400 ml was collected for one person for 10-15 minutes. Thereafter, the donors were asked to stay in the refreshment area for at least 10 minutes following the donation. Post donation, Proper refreshments were provided to the person and a token of appreciation was given as a gesture of respect. With 250 registration with 224 donors, RHA has indeed set a benchmark.

In summary, blood donation is one of the noble acts that can save the lives of others or even the lives of someone in the family. Therefore, it is very important to raise public awareness of blood donations so that many people can recognize that surgery and medicines need blood to survive. These campaigns can help us reduce the blood supply to people in need and ensure that everyone has the blood type they need.
