Overview of Profile:
Dr. Shalaka Hire completed her PhD research titled "Optimizing Construction Site Safety using Building Information Modeling-enabled Automation" from Symbiosis International University, Pune. Her research was a joint collaboration with Loughborough University, UK. Her research aimed to advance construction site safety by integrating BIM with automated rule-checking systems.
Dr. Shalaka Hire works as an Assistant professor at the School of Civil Engineering. She has solid experience in research in domains such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), Automation, and Site safety.
She graduated in Civil Engineering (2016) from K.K.Wagh Institute of Engineering Education & Research, Nashik, India, and a Master's (2018) from MVP's KBT College of Engineering, Nashik, India.
She has recently submitted her PhD in BIM-enabled Automation for site safety, and her research is an international collaboration between Symbiosis Institute of Technology, SIU, India, and Loughborough University, UK.
She is the recipient of the prestigious Commonwealth Split Site Scholarship, funded by the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), which allowed her to conduct research at Loughborough University in the UK for one year.
She engaged in teaching activities for graduate-level civil students in India and postgraduate students at Loughborough University in the UK while conducting her study. She has also supervised projects in the construction management domain.
She has presented her research at national and international conferences and had it published in a number of prestigious international journals.
