OVERVIEW OF PROFILE :

Dr. Sunita S. Barve is Professor in the School of Computer Engineering . She is also working as Deputy Director Academics and Research in MIT Academy of Engineering.

Her expertise is in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, and research interest spans both Cognitive Radio Networks and Reinforcement Learning.

She had received a research grant of Rs. 16,38,000/-, as a Principal Investigator on the research project, “Efficient and Enhanced Spectrum management using Cognitive Radio Network”, funded by AICTE, New Delhi under Research Promotion Scheme.

She also successfully completed the research project titled, “Cognitive Radio Network using GNU Radio and Universal Software Radio Peripherals”, with research funding of Rs.1,40,000/- from BCUD, Savitribai Phule Pune University.

She received B.Tech. in Computer Engineering with distinction in 2001 and M. Tech in Computer Engineering in 2005 from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere, India. She completed Ph.D in Computer Engineering from Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune in October 2016 on the topic "Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning Based Routing for Cognitive Radio Network".

  • As a Deputy Director Academics and Research and Dean Academics, introduced an integrated academic and professional advising model for overall holistic development of the student and excellent opportunities to acquire interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary knowledge.
  • Strategic implementation of MITAOE commitment to deliver effective and quality education during COVID-19 pandemic.
  • As a Dean Administration (June 2017 to June 2019), demonstrated various best practices for sustainable campus such as digital campus, effective waste management and recycling strategies. As a result AICTE was awarded the MIT Academy of Engineering with Clean and Green Campus Award.
  • As a Dean Administration, successfully coordinated various activities of AICTE Approval Process for the new Bachelor of Design Program in 2019.
