Overview of Profile:

Dr. Shyam Shukla is a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. He has obtained his doctoral degree from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal (MP). He is the recipient of Dr. Wille’s national award for best paper presentation at the National Conference of Fluid Mechanics & Fluid Power, 2000 organized by Fluid control research Institute (FCRI), Palakkad. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers, the National Society of fluid mechanics and fluid power (NCFMFP), and a fellow member of the Institute of hydraulics.

He has vast industrial experience of more than 27 years and has worked in the Research divisions of Jyoti Limited (Vadodara) and Kirloskar Brothers Limited (Pune) in various capacities. He has done extensive research in centrifugal pumps, hydel turbines, pump intakes, and pumping systems for more than 30 years and visited Germany, Singapore, Canada, The United Kingdom, The United States of America, Tanzania, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. He is an extensive user of the ANSYS suite of software in CFD analysis for more than 20 years.

Hydraulic development of fluid machinery like pumps and turbines, Design of pump intakes, Fluid-structure interactions, Surge protection of pumping systems, Hydraulic design of a pumping system including stormwater pumping systems, irrigation pumping systems, water supply systems, etc.

  • Dr. Wille Memorial National Award for the best paper from the industry at the 27th National Conference on Fluid Mechanics & Fluid Power held at Palakkad, Kerala. During 11-13 Dec. 2000.
