Student Internship Program
SEMESTER LONG INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
1. To help students gain hands-on professional work experience prior to their graduation.
2. To instill qualities like confidence, maturity, responsibility, and social skills necessary for personal and professional growth.
3. To expose students to state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and professional practices in their respective trades.
4. To expose them to the current technological developments relevant to the subject area of training.
5. To create conditions conducive to quest for knowledge and its applicability on the job.
6. To expose students to the engineer’s responsibilities and ethics.
PROCEDURE
1. CR office conveys various industry requirements / internship opportunities to the students.
2. Students apply for internship work to various industries, appear for the interviews and after their selection they submit the approved “Request Letter for Internship in the Industry” letter to the industry.
3. Students join the industry for internship work and report to faculty mentors every fortnight.
4. After successful completion, internship work is evaluated as per the rubrics given in the guidelines.
ELIGIBILITY
1. No live backlogs are allowed
2. CGPA of 8.50 and above (Up-to 7th Semester)
3. If Recruiter/s (MNCs) have offered semester long internship to the selected student/s (before joining the organization after his / her graduation), then in special case recruited students can apply for the same. (Only criteria-I should be satisfied by the student)
4. Only students satisfying the above criteria can be permitted for semester-long internship in any MNCs / R&D laboratories such as DRDO, NCL, NEERI, CDAC and Institutions like IITs/ NITs / International institutes of repute.
SLIP REPORT (ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-20: JANUARY 2020 – JUNE 2020)
1. During the said period, around 100+ students of final year BTECH students have joined their 16 weeks internship program in various industries.
2. Students engaged in around 28 MNCs for SLIP work.
3. After successful completion, Internship work of all the students get evaluated (Presentation + Internship report) by the panel of three members in every school.
4. Based on their performance & industry evaluation reports, grades are given to the students.
5. Positive impact of SLIP has been observed in students thinking and overall personality.
SLIP REPORT (ACADEMIC YEAR 2020-21: JANUARY 2021 – JUNE 2021)
1. During the said period, 245 students of Final Year BTECH have joined their Semester Long Internship Program in various industries. Out of them, 180 students are doing their semester long internship with stipend.
2. Students engaged in 50 (SMEs+MNCs) industries for their SLIP work.
3. After successful completion, Internship work of all the students get evaluated (Presentation + Internship report) by the panel of three members in every school.
4. Based on their performance & industry evaluation reports, grades are given to the students.
5. Positive impact of SLIP has been observed in students thinking and overall personality.
